Samsung SGH-i450 Review / Prapandang

It’s been a very busy month for me but thanks anyway for all comments (via this blog or through my email). As you asked me before, this is my PRO and CONS about Samsung SGH-i450 Symbian phone:

Bulan ni memang saya sibuk sikit tetapi terima kasih kepada anda semua kerana mengutarakan komen (samada melalui blog ini ataupun melalui email saya). Seperti yang ramai mahukan, disini saya berikan sedikit komen mengenai Samsung SGH-i450:

1. Some information about Samsung i450 / Maklumat Samsung i450.

Pro:

1. Operating System: Symbian Version 9.2 / Sistem operasi Symbian 9.2

2. Platform: S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1 (FP1) -same as Nokia N81 / Platform S60 3rd Edition (FP1) sama seperti Nokia N81, N95 dan N76.

3. Slide-up and Slide-down to reveal stereo speakers / Telefon jenis gelongsor, tolak ke bawah untuk memaparkan pembesar suara.

4. Premium Music Phone with Bang & Olufssen Amplifier (to test this, you should jack-in 3.5mm stereo headphone or HIFI System and you will notice the sound quality) / Telefon asas muzik yang baik beserta dengan penguat bunyi Bang & Olufssen (untuk mendapatkan kualiti yang terbaik sila cuba dengan ‘headset’ stereo yang baik seperti jenama SONY, Phillips atau sambung kepada Radio Hi-Fi dengan menggunakan ‘jack’ bersaiz 3.5mm).

5. All Games/ Software/ Themes made for Nokia N Series (ie N73/ N76/ N95/ N81 and others) are fully compatible with Samsung i450./ Kebanyakkan Games/Software/Themes yang dibuat untuk Nokia N-Series adalah sesuai dipasang kepada telefon ini.

6. The respond speed of the phone is far more better than N73. No lags, hang-up or restart. / Tindakbalas dalam penggunaan harian telefon ini adalah JAUH lebih baik daripada Nokia N73. Tiada ‘hang’ (kaku), respon lembab atau ‘restart’ (kaku – kemudiannya padam dan hidup semula).

7. Screen quality is BEST compare to any Nokia N Series phone. / Kualiti skrin adalah terbaik berbanding lain-lain Nokia N-Series.

8. User interface is as friendly as any Nokia N Series. / Antaramuka adalah mesra-penguna – sama dengan lain-lain Nokia N-Series.

9. Very good quality-built: My i450 slipped and fall down 3 times (since march till now) with no squeaks/ scratch/ or damage. Compare to N95 I dont think so! / Kualiti buatannya adalah SANGAT BAIK! Setakat ini telefon saya sudah terjatuh sebanyak 3 kali tanpa rosak, tercalar atau gelongsornya longgar. Jika Nokia N95 saya rasa tidak begitu!

10. Hi-Speed internet (HSDPA 3.6Mbps) / Dilengkapi dengan kemudahan sambungan internet laju HSDPA 3.6Mbps, EDGE dan GPRS. Saya telah mencubanya dengan DIGI (Edge) dan CELCOM (3G).

11. The BEST phone Keypad so far (in S60 category). / ‘Keypad’ telefon ini SANGAT responsif dan baik. saya rasa inilah keypad yang terbaik dalam kelas Symbian S60 3rd.

12. Good grip and steady in hand. / Terasa selesa dalam genggaman, tidak terlalu kecil atau besar.

13. Handle both landscape/vertical screen resolution (compatible with landscape game like Bass Fishing 3D) / Mampu untuk bekerja dalam kedua-dua jenis paparan samada menegak atau melintang (sangat sesuai jika dimasukkan (install) game seperti Bass Fishing 3D).

Cons:

1. No WIFI. / Tiada WIFI

2. No GPS (But Google Maps loads beautifully) / Tiada GPS (tetapi Google Maps dapat bekerja dengan baik!)

3. Camera 2mpx only with no autofocus. / Kamera cuma 2 megapixels dan tiada autofokus.

4. No GAMES. But you can get it from http://www.symbian-freeware.com/tag-game.html As I told you before, the phone OS is compatible with N73/N81/N95/N76 and all other Symbian S60 3rd Edition devices. Please try Greedy Penguins and Frozen Bubble and you’ll never regret to have this phone. / Tiada Games. Tetapi anda boleh mencuba untuk pndah-turun games daripada  http://www.symbian-freeware.com/tag-game.html Sila cuba Greedy Penguins dan Frozen Bubble – anda tidak akan kecewa!

2. If you want ADD-ON with installation instruction (A CD-ROM with loads of Games/ Themes and Softwares for i450) please do the following: / Jika anda benar-benar perlukan GAMES/ THEMES dan SOFTWARE untuk telefon ini, sila ikuti langkah dibawah ini:

a. SMS me via phone +6016-827-0972
b. Bank-in RM100 to my MAYBANK account (Adli Ayob acc no: 160045312368
c. Confirm the bank process. SMS me if you already bank-in the amount.
d. I will send you the CD-ROM (with S60 tutorial in Adobe PDF format) via courier service. Please verify your real name, phone number and address.

3. Other recomendations:

1. Nokia XpressMusic 5700 (Symbian S60 3rd platform)
2. Samsung i550w (Symbian S60 3rd platform with WIFI & GPS)
3. Nokia N95 8GB (S60 3rd edition)
4. Samsung G810 (S60 3rd edition with 5.1Mpx Autofocus/ face detection/ xenon flash/ WiFi / B&O ICE Amplifier/ GPS and Geotagging/ Full Alluminium body/ 2.6″ screen)
5. Nokia N82 (S60 3rd edition with 5Mpx autofocus camera)
6. LG KS10 Joy (S60 3rd edition – the BEST budget class symbian phone!)
